  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar (for blueberry filling)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened for cinnamon sugar)
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp blueberry jam

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warmed milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar; let sit until bubbly. Mix in melted butter and eggs, then add flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Knead until smooth and let rise until doubled.
  2. Make the Blueberry Filling: Cook blueberries with sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick until soft. Thicken with cornstarch mixed with water. Let cool.
  3. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: Blend softened butter with dark brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Make Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and blueberry jam.
  5. Assemble & Bake: Roll out dough, spread with butter and cinnamon-sugar mixture, layer on blueberry filling, roll up tightly, slice into pieces and place in a greased pan. Let rise again before baking at 350°F for about 28-30 minutes.
