- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened for cinnamon sugar)
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp blueberry jam
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warmed milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar; let sit until bubbly. Mix in melted butter and eggs, then add flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Knead until smooth and let rise until doubled.
- Make the Blueberry Filling: Cook blueberries with sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick until soft. Thicken with cornstarch mixed with water. Let cool.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: Blend softened butter with dark brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Make Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and blueberry jam.
- Assemble & Bake: Roll out dough, spread with butter and cinnamon-sugar mixture, layer on blueberry filling, roll up tightly, slice into pieces and place in a greased pan. Let rise again before baking at 350°F for about 28-30 minutes.
