  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded or grated parmesan cheese
  • chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté diced shallots until soft (about 2 minutes), then add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  2. Stir in corn, heavy cream, sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne; cook for 2 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together milk and flour until smooth. Gradually add this mixture to the skillet while stirring; cook for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese until melted. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
