4 1/2 – 5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 packages active-dry yeast
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Combine warm milk and water in a mixing bowl; add yeast and let sit until foamy.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
Mix yeast mixture into dry ingredients; add beaten egg and melted butter until combined. Gradually add more flour until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (about an hour).
Prepare the topping by melting remaining butter; mix with corn syrup and brown sugar.
Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; brush with melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over it.
Roll tightly into a log, slice into equal pieces, and place chopped pecans in a greased baking dish.
