  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
  • 2 diced tomatoes (15 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté for about 5 minutes until tender.
  3. Pour in the water, add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, bay leaves, Italian seasoning, and soy sauce; stir to combine.
  4. Mix in the elbow macaroni until well incorporated.
  5. Cover and simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and take out the bay leaves before serving.
