- 2 cups flour
- 1 & 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter (chopped)
- 6 tablespoons butter-flavored Crisco
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh)
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
- 2 cups pecans (chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter and Crisco until crumbly, stir in half an egg and ice water until combined. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough and transfer it to a pie dish.
- For the filling, brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Let cool slightly and whisk together with eggs, sugars, corn syrup, milk, vanilla, salt, lemon juice, flour, pecans, and toffee bits.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust and bake for 45–50 minutes or until set.
- For the streusel topping, mix flour and brown sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over baked filling during the last 10–15 minutes of baking.
