- 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sourdough discard (room temperature)
- 3/4 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sourdough discard, sour cream, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until a sticky dough forms.
- Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough gently until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about half an inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
- Arrange donuts in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or on a lined baking sheet.
- Brush tops with melted butter before cooking.
- Air fry for about 4 minutes per side or bake at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 15 minutes until golden.
- Roll warm donuts in cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.
