Ingredients

  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sourdough discard, sour cream, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough gently until smooth.
  4. Roll out the dough to about half an inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
  5. Arrange donuts in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush tops with melted butter before cooking.
  7. Air fry for about 4 minutes per side or bake at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 15 minutes until golden.
  8. Roll warm donuts in cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.
